Nadhi Narasimha Swamy Temple (River Narasimha Swamy Temple) is located beside the Kanva Reservoir. Lovely small temple yet powerful and attained popularity status due to Tv9 “Heegu Uunte”. (Dodda Mallur, Chanapatna)
Iyengars and Vyshnavites would make this as favourite visit for sure...
HOW TO GET THERE:
About 65 kms from Bangalore & 5 kms from Chanapatna Bus Station. Buses to Chanapatna is frequent and maybe you can take a local auto to the temple but be careful not to pay one way but to talk of round trip without paying them until you are back to Chanapatna. (Cost of Rs.50-100).
BY CAR – Take Mysore Road route and after Crossing Chanapatna Bus Station look for Navanitha Krishna Temple on your left, right after it look for right path and vivid concrete board flashing Nadhi Narasimha Temple, take divider right and keep going for 2 kms away until you find Mud path that would lead to the temple. One car at a time as the road is not proper.

You may meet Priest Sridhar for any remedial measures and he is glad to bless you with a wooden stick along with his remedial measures, listen well and follow the same.

DONT’S:
Please do not litter the temple premises with litter of non-biodegradable products and taking human crap around the temple. This temple evocates positive energy and let’s preserve the same in not harming the pious and such a holy place. Please do not use this temple as picnic reserves. I am thinking of donating a painted board of the same to the Temple Trust.
My experience, we left home around 10 am Me and my mother. She was all decked up in Mysore Silk (typical Iyengar Mentality). We reached the Temple around 1130 am and was shocked to discover the crowd on a weekday.
Anyway after figuring out we bought the coconuts and lemons and did the pradhaksheney 48 times (I think I did more than 48 times but did not complain)...:-)
This chanting of Mantra did give me relief of the tension and heaviness that I had and quite unburdening it I seek the Lord Blessings to tie the coconut. The priest Sridhar was kind enough to bless me with stick instructing me to follow his remedial measures on such and such days. I am still wondering how can Priest Sridhar manage to handle devotees problems and successfully continue at peace, might be setting an example to follow the steps of his devotion towards the Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.
One must experience it to share it. I don’t mind getting involved in cleaning procedures of the temple premises to make it breathable for future devotees. First thing I am going to donate a painted board for do’s and don’ts in Kannada and English.
